John takes us through Mark 5:21-43 where we see Jesus triumph over sickness and death. Two scenarios take place in this familiar passage. The first is a Jewish leader comes imploring Jesus to heal his daughter before she dies. The second is a woman who has spent all of her money, unsuccessfully attempting to heal herself from bleeding for over 12 years. Jesus not only shows compassion in His response to each person, but then uses their place of desperation and heartbreak to bring glory to Himself and salvation to their souls. The mercy of God was severe and sovereignly gracious. He used their brokenness to lead them to redemption.
