“May your grace not forsake us, O Lord, we pray, but make us dedicated to your holy service and at all times obtain for us your help. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.”
Jesus has saved us for good works, and he will help us do them. In Ephesians 2, Paul writes about how Christ has taken two groups separated by man-made walls and brought both of them into unity before Him in order to fulfil a covenant of promise through us. We are to be a blessing to the world through good works God has planned for us. Through Christ we have access to the Father, in order to understand His will for us and the works we are to do.
One of the challenges of the gospel is the call to forgive as we have been forgiven. If that doesn’t seem like a challenge, you haven’t thought enough about your own forgiveness. How can we mimic the healing action Christ has had on our hearts with our neighbors? That’s too much love for me!
Today, meditate on how you can show the reconciling power of the gospel to everyone you meet. Christ is working in us so that the resurrection isn’t a one time thing, but resurrection happens every day.
