“O God, who reward the merits of the just and offer pardon to sinners who do penance, have mercy, we pray, on those who call upon you, that the admission of our guilt may serve to obtain your pardon for our sins. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.”

Our eternal life begins the day we are born into Christ, not the day we die to this world. In John 5 we find the Messiah speaking about His authority. He tells the crowd than anyone who hears Him and has faith in the One who sent Him has crossed over from death to life. As someone who has crossed from death to eternal life with Christ, your life should look different!

Admission of guilt is a huge step, but it should lead to the recognition of your place in God’s masterpiece. True humility isn’t self-loathing, it’s a proper understanding of one’s place. You’ve crossed over from death to life. You can no longer be mastered by the dead shell of sin you’ve discarded through the power of the Cross. Your place is no longer among the dead. Your place is no longer in slavery to death and sin. Your place is in LIFE!.
