This past Sunday was a monumental occasion for Normandy. Over the past two weeks John Bower and Joshua Sorrows taught on the role and significance of elders for the local church which culminated in the installment of John Kaserman as the fourth Elder overseeing Normandy. Needless to say, this is a big deal! John Kaserman has faithfully followed Christ for years and as John Bower mentioned on Sunday, his calling to this position has been confirmed by God, the other elders, his wife, and through the overwhelming support of our church body over the past 4 months. We are so thankful for his faithfulness, passion for Jesus, and love for God's people.
If that wasn't a big enough reason to celebrate, our Mercy Ministry led by Matt and Rachel Clarke (also seen below), have been secretly raising funds to bless a family in our church with the ability to buy another car. Come on! On Sunday we were all able to share in the great joy of giving. Jesus said it is better to give than to receive and Sunday was a clear testament to that truth. We are so proud of everyone that rallied behind this gift. Even more, we're so proud of the recipients of the gift, Zach and Sarah Garza. Their faith and obedience is to be celebrated, honored, and emulated. Praise the Lord for all that He is doing in our church!
